Dr. M. Kaykobad has been Awarded Distinguished Alumni Award 2008

Dr. M. Kaykobad, an alumnus of the Flinders University of South Australia, has been awarded Distinguished Alumni Award 2008 by his Alma Mater with the citation ‘For significant contributions to Computational Mathematics, and to Computer Science and Engineering Education in Bangladesh’. At the request of Flinders University Professor A.M.M. Safiullah, Vice-chancellor, BUET formally handed over the certificate and crest in presence of faculty members of CSE Department on the 8th of November, 2008. Flinders University was established in 1966 and has by now over 55,000 alumni. Over the decades it has produced finest researchers and scientists, and has the credit of producing the youngest Fields Medallist in Terrence Tao in 2006. Since year 2006 the University has been recognizing its outstanding alumni for their contribution to the field of research and to the community. Dr. Kaykobad was awarded Gold Medal Senior Group Physical Sciences by Bangladesh Academy of Sciences, received Gold Medal for his contribution to computer programming culture in Bangladesh and recognized as an outstanding coach by ACM ICPC in the World Finals held in Hawaii in 2002. Dr. Kaykobad is a professor of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, BUET.
